The future of the internet

It is no surprise that the internet is vastly growing and will continue so. People can even access it via a cellphone. So yes it is rapidly expanding into other mediums. The arguement or debate at hand is will it eventually wipe out television or, even so, merge with the television becoming one medium. Television cable is already available via your computer as it offers a cable tuner on the back. Also major websites such as youtube provide ample amount of content to watch for free. Television does have a sort of rebuttal for this transition occuring. DVR which has become the standard for cable service. With DVR one can have " on demand " or " tivo". On Demand allows viewers to navigate through an interface providing tv shows and movies to watch instantly or even rent movies, all with the click of a button.Tivo allows people to record a television shows or movies onto the DVR harddrive. Tivo is convenient because some people are not able to be home when their favorite shows are on so with Tivo they can watch it later. Truthfully I can't see internet ever taking over television but rather the interaction between the two to continue to grow. Connecting of the internet to your DVR box or something similiar. You can already connect your Xbox 360s and PS3s to your computer playing whatever content downloaded from the internet directly through them ( you have to connect them to Windows Media Center). Plus each one of those consoles has their own online network. I believe the internet would add as supplementary marterial to television as it is already doing in a sense. But even more so.
